The new hall ! New higher roof, new windows, new floor , water guttering and fresh paint !

REC Committee School, Gpoubu, Newton (2023-2024)

REC Committee school in Newton was provided with a new water well (number 81) in June 2022, the water well was funded by St Paul’s School in Gibraltar.

Once the well was finished we recorded the happy scenes with children drinking safe, clean water and singing and it was whilst using a drone to film that we noticed that a large roof area had been torn up by a storm so we decided to rebuild that section of the school building.

It was decided that the school needed more support so with your funds we have provided the following :

– A new and higher roof which will allow the community to meet in the new hall
– Plastering and painting
– Guttering throughout the school buildings
– A new 5000 litre water tank
– Wash sinks so that children can wash their hands
– Water harvesting
– Steel doors (20+)
– Removal of all holed windows and provision of metal windows throughout all school buildings (60+)

The whole school compound has been transformed, now the community will be able to meet at the newly refurbished hall, the classrooms all have proper windows for good ventilation and light and the building.

Thank you for your support !
